"The Greater Farallones Association is dedicated to protecting the wildlife and habitats of the Greater Farallones National Marine Sanctuary, a 3,295-square mile area of federally-protected ocean and coastal waters, bays, and estuaries along the northern and central California coast. Our mission is to ensure the Sanctuary remains ecologically diverse and globally significant through science, conservation, and community involvement. GFA’s citizen science, education, and conservation programs annually engage nearly 14,000 adults and youth from throughout the nine counties of the San Francisco Bay Area and offer opportunities for participants to take a hands-on role in monitoring and protecting Sanctuary waters and coastline."
